Many thanks to all of you for your kind comments! Christiane, though my family did live near Canyon de Chelly when I was a kid, we also traveled around the reservation visiting many friends in different remote and beautiful locations. I loved helping our friends herd their sheep, grind corn, round up horses, or any other work they had going on at the time. Thank you for your interest!

A fabulous poem and a great perspective/ overview. Is it the Canyon de Chelley ............ you told me same time ago that you lived there. A wonderful work Dawn (Fav)

This is a real treasure Dawn, You have had a good life and you are making it shine. We all thank you

Thank you for sharing this childhood drawing and poem with us. I wish I had the words to express how much appreciate and admire you. (It is remarkable to know that you completed this at the tender age of 12.)

A great Christmas spirit! So you lived in Indian Reservation! Wow! You got the spirit of the land! And I love your avatar picture!

A fantastic feelings expression!!! You were a telented artist since your childhood. Congratulations Dawn!

dear dawn, this is so lovely, i wept...thank you so much for sharing it; the poetry moves me as does the artwork & emotional painter/viewer that i am, you constantly surprise mw with your moving, beautiful work...THANK YOU SO MUCH, DEAR;I LOVE THIS!!! LOVE, JUDE

I can see your talent has always been a part of you at an early age.... what a wonderful life learning experience you were able to have growing up...it certainly added to your art Dawn.

Most beautiful expression of inner feelings during childhood congrats Dawn

The perspective is amazing, and so is the poem - especially for age 12. You remain amazing to me. I love the corn rows, so symbolic of their ability to grow anything in the desert. The sheep sustain them. You were and are witness to these people and a way of life.
