Neskowin Beach Rosy Sea Fog. In this horizontal composition, warm rosy light suffuses the forms of increasingly distant rocks and headlands against which the waves break. There is a lot of movement in this image, from the restless sea to the many diagonal lines formed by the steep slopes of the rocks and cliffs, the movement juxtaposed against a composition that balances the movement with the static quality of a frame that is divided approximately in half, one half light, the other dark. The rough and angular textures of the rocks nearest the surface of the sea contrast with the more complex and organic forms of the trees growing at the tops of the cliffs and headlands.
