True about the 70% Judi. It is just that I seem to take the 30% loss personally.

So sad... Mom has a tough job to keep them safe, and dad is not around to help. But luckily that means 70% are doing okay!

Thanks Judi. No, there were no babies inside. This nest was empty when it was found but, looked like it had been robbed of babies by some predator, before the babies had a chance to fledge. I have sadly discovered that at least 30% of the hummer nests I have found this year have been robbed of babies before they fledge.

I hope there were no chicks inside, and this was when the nest was empty! And I hope you got some pics of the family before the chicks fledged!
