In this series I am exploring techniques of layering paint, and then scratching though. These are techniques I use often in my encaustic work, and it’s interesting to see how they translate to acrylic media. I am also playing with subtle variation in depth and opacity within a narrow range of color.

Jane Davies is a full time artist working in collage, painting, and encaustics. Beginning as a potter in the early nineties, Davies gradually transitioned into freelance art, using painting and collage as her medium. For the past several years she has put most of her efforts towards teaching, writing, and having fun making art.
