Thanks Sandra! It is very unusual for a painting to take so long, and if I could paint one every three weeks, that would be lightning speed indeed! :)

A beautiful piece of art. I thought 3 weeks was bad enough.

Mike Lawrence is an incredible artist with a range of diverse styles. I'm a fan! This bag is exactly what I was hoping it would be: Well made, durable, and nice -n- big so I can carry LITERALLY everything I need in it! I can fit a laptop, chargers, wallet, phone, keys, and a sweatshirt, and any other small items I want. Great quality, beautiful art design! Highly recommend.

Surprisingly quick response and delivery time . The customizing process was easy to figure out , and the bag was exactly as i had ordered it . It's perfect to carry around my sketch pad and pencils or framed art work . The fabric is heavy weight , and the handle is sturdy and well attached . Good overall construction and the image quality is bright and clear .

Received this lovely tote. The image printed beautifully on the fabric. I ordered the small 13x13 size and find it attractive and handy for carrying odds and ends. I'm looking forward to showing it off.

Ordered this in the generous large size. It is beautiful, very dynamic. Am very happy with the quality of the image and the bag itself.

Artist's Description

Started in 2005, this took eight years to complete! It was on my list of "to do" paintings, and it took 70 hours to finish. Little Lorikeets are among Australia's smallest parrots, and can be very difficult to spot, as they forage high up in trees for food, are perfectly matched in plumage colour to green leaves, and fly at lightning speed! A myriad of green shades was used to complete this. Yellow-greens, blue-greens, olive, brown-greens and violet-green. I never use green straight from the tube. Depicted among the leaves and branches of an ironbark.

About Frances McMahon

BACKGROUND: Born in January 1965, AUSTRALIAN artist Frances McMahon has had an avid passion in illustrating Australia's beautiful native birds since the age of five. Her talent was apparent at an early age, accepting her first commission when she was around fourteen, to renowned artist Paul Ashton Delprat, now principal of the Julian Ashton Art School. Paul swapped her painting for one of his etchings ~ a swap Frances was delighted with! Her original paintings hang in private collections in New York, Minnesota, Ontario and her home country of Australia. Developed over many years, her self-taught technique consists of airbrushed backgrounds (liquid acrylic), with the main work completed in watercolour and transparently applied...
