Description
This is a docugraph of Lower Manhattan I took from across the Hudson River in Jersey City, New Jersey. The Freedom Tower, now the tallest building in New York (as well as the Western Hemisphere) occupies the site of the former beloved Twin Towers. Also note that when the photograph was taken, Battery Park City had not yet been constructed, and the abandoned pier remains have since been removed. A public waterfront plaza is now located here.

- It saddens me when ever I see the once glorious Twin-Towers - who fell pray to senseless religious fanatics . -
Kellice Swaggerty replied:
Yes, Hartmut. The loss of even one human being senselessly is always a tragedy!

Breaks my heart to think of what happened on 9/11...your pic is amazing though and brings back memories...just a remarkable work, Kellice! L/F
Kellice Swaggerty replied:
Thank you so much, Aurelio! Every time we use our camera as a tool for our artwork, we may not fully realize that we are producing a record of history that is more important than the art itself.
Zenya Zenyaris
A beautiful, immortal memory image of New York, how it used to be! I was in one of the towers in '85, as a tourist, and have special feelings.
Kellice Swaggerty replied:
Thank you so much, Zenya! I had visited many times over the years, as far back as 1977.

Magnificent capture, Kellice! A very emotional nostalgic composition with extraordinary light and reflections - a metaphorical calm before the storm. L/F/P
