Earlier in the morning I photographed the bud of this lovely, coral hibiscus. Several hours later, it had opened! Hibiscus thrive in warm tropical and subtropical locations throughout the world. They are called Rose Mallow in some places, as they are part of the "mallow" family of plants. They form wonderful and colorful hedges and can be grown in pots. They attract butterflies, bees, and hummingbirds. They can be used for paper making and the petals can be made into tea. There are many colors but this variegated coral is one of my favorites.
I have been taking pictures since I was young and have been taking pictures ever since. I love the outdoors and enjoy taking landscape and botanical photos. With my lifelong interest in and study of interior design and architecture, I greatly enjoy taking pictures of buildings, interiors, and art. I am a retired teacher, play golf, travel, camp, make jewelry, read, and sew. Thank you for viewing my galleries.
