Description
A door on a house in Niagara-on-the-Lake with a Chestnut tree. I have often traveled to this quaint little town at the mouth of the Niagara River in order to get reference material to paint. It is one of the oldest settlements in this area of Southern Ontario with a number of historic buildings and battles from the War of 1812. this particular house is one of the older ones on the east side of the main street near the northern end of town. I wanted to capture the evening sunlight shining through the big old Chestnut Tree on the boulevard in front. Most of the time this once sleepy village is usually inundated with thousands of tourists for most of the year and along with the region's wine makers there is always something to see and do.
