Description
One day during the harsh winter months I decided to visit Niagara. Living only about 1.5 hr away thought wouldn't be a big deal drive there to take a quick shot and come back home. Little I knew that would be my most challenging photographic experience. I have never seen Niagara more beautiful and surreal but I didn't realize how difficult would be to create this image. The mist from the falls was instantly freezing and covering my equipment with thick layer of ice. Keeping my lens clean was very difficult. I wasn't sure if I had something to take home with me. I had to work very fast and hope for the best. This is a 20 sec exposure with 9 stop ND filter.
Niagara in winter - a natural phenomenon where ice, snow and rainbow met together for a short moment of time. This photo was published in several online magazines, stolen number of times and became Canadian Geographic Photo of the month.
