A Great photograph of the Memorial to Honor Us Vietnam Veterans
A tribute to the area I come from which is known as Niddrie. Niddrie is an area South East of Edinburgh City centre and building of the area started in the 1920s. The area housed edinburgh south siders with residents also coming from East Lothian. My Grandmother and Grandfather came from East Lothian.The area has a few sections that make up the area, Craigmillar, Niddrie Mains, Niddrie Mill, Niddrie House, Niddrie Marischal and Greendykes. Sadly, but definitely needed the Niddrie area is being regenerated with modern housing, shops and schools.I still live in the area and not only does Niddrie have a phenomenal social history, but also an industrial history. Breweries, Brickworks and more, Niddrie is worth a search if you are unfamiliar with the area which also has one of Scotlands best medieval castles, Craigmillar Castle, highly recommended to visit.Thanks for looking.
