This is an F-16 Fighting Falcon Taking off for its home base at the 388th TFW wing at Hill AFB, Utah after putting on a demonstration for the Hanscome AFB Open House Air Show in the summer of 1996. The power of this Fighter needed to be seen in a way you could understand why it's so powerful. I chose to show the P&W F100 engine in the full power of 24,000 lbs of thrust with afterburner on and the heat it generates as it takes off just as the sun was setting for the night. This Original Painting on canvas in acrylic now hangs in the Halls of the Pentagon as part of the Air Force Art Program permanent display.
