An amazing artist with a keen eye for detail and color. These cards are unique and very special to use as birthday cards, thank you notes, or anniversary cards.

This was a personal birthday card for my mothers' best friends' 80th birthday. She & my mom went to parades together in younger days and they new several "Jefferson City Buzzards" members. Mrs. Doris' daughter, Wendy was a "Shady Lady" for years, so they are fond of the New Orleans marching clubs. The card was a big hit at the celebration!!

I've given several of these birthday cards out along with the story of the photo being a print of art painted by my beautiful and talented former neighbor. The cards are good quality and suitable for framing. My son, Mike, especially loved his card since he fondly remembers Mrs. Misha and Mr. Bill. We love you guys

Fantastic artwork, quality cards, and I love how reminiscent these are of Ashland Oregon

Artist's Description

This is a piece made from found parts. The bottom is a gas hot plate, air filter and lamp holder for the wings. It is both female this side and male the other side. The carpet cutter becomes a mans equipment with doorknobs for balls and the other end a womans equipment. The another artist pointed out that it looks just the famous art piece, Nike of Samothrace, a marble sculpture of a woman with no head, arms but has wings. Thus the title.

Some of my earliest aesthetic influences were the old Venice canals, then inundated with oil derricks. I found the canals and the old bridges crossing them interesting and mysterious. My father was another early influence on my work; he was a metal and wood worker, and I learned building skills from him. He was very resourceful and inventive, whipping together small buildings and additions on our property. In 1962 I saw an exhibition of work by installation and assemblage artist Edward Kienholz. It inspired me to make my own sculpture from found objects. During this time I also became...
