The Palisades Interstate Park is located in both New York and New Jersey and is monitored by an Inter-park police force. In New Jersey, the park includes 2,500 acres of uplands, cliffs, old growth forest and Hudson River shorefront with vista overlooks and multiple recreation areas, including Fort Lee Historic Park. Within the 12 mile long and half-mile wide area, there are more than 30 miles of hiking and ski trails, a boat launching ramp, a scenic riverside drive, riverfront picnic areas and playgrounds, a nature sanctuary, two boat basins, and historic sites. The Palisades Interstate Park is a National Historic Landmark and the Palisades are a National Natural Landmark.
