North Carolina Blue Ridge Parkway - Appalachian Allure Sunset over Craggy Gardens Catawba Rhododendron flowers blooming as Spring comes to the Blue Ridge Parkway in early June. Every once in a while something amazing happens in these hills, when the Appalachian Mountain's landscape becomes a living and breathing entity with richly colored spring flowers under shifting fog and dramatic sunset skies. I was truly blessed to witness this scene along with the great folks in my "Spring in the Highlands" workshop last month and it was all I could do to concentrate on capturing it rather than just standing in awe of the natural beauty that was unfolding in front of us.
