Description
Located deep in the woods in the mountains of Western North Carolina, this moonshine still sits beside a small stream of water. With smoke coming from it's natural stone and clay furnace (back near the wooden barells), the worm box of this still sits in the foreground, water coming from the overflow whole. To the right of the worm box the thumper keg is visible with the cam arm coming out the top and traveling over to the copper still cap on top of the still and furnace. Over the worm box you can see the flume which brings water from upstream of the small stream.
A black and white version of North Carolina Moonshine Still is also available.
North Carolina Moonshine Still was photographed by Greg Mimbs
Although this still could be modified to produce moonshine, it was set up as a display only. All visible parts are accurate. No laws were broken during the production of these photographs.
