I got so many comment about this when I had it framed! I am working on living in New York for a few months and this is keeping me going until I get there! Sorry the photo is so bad - the light was on it.

Going to put it the front of a small cupboard door...

Good print. However I would have preferred it to be mailed flat. I want it to stay flat but it keeps rolling on me since it was in a tube. I put some heavy books to try to flatten it.

Hey, i was about to purchase the metal option, but the price with shipping would have been nearly $500 more...If you are willing to work on the cost there, I might upgrade. I also was considering getting embellishments, but guessing you don't do that on posters. Contact me if you are willing to work on the pricing. Otherwise I am stoked...this is my birthday present to myself.

Perfect piece for my serene master bedroom

I love everything I bought. But make sure you indicate the prices are in American Dollars. I thought I was buying that poster in Australian dollars .. from 61 $. I ended paying $112. nearly double !!

Artist's Description

This is really part of a set of two paintings, fortunately both purchased by the same couple. The scene is imaginary, but reminded me of North Dakota, for some reason, even though bright red elevators are rare there. One painting looks down in 180 degrees, the other looks up in 180 degrees. In doing these, I tried to capture the feeling of the vertical panoramic, without sticking exactly to the architectural "mirror-image" constraint of the opposing painting.

About Scott Kirby

Scott Kirby

“Visions of the Great Plains” consists of drawings and watercolor paintings inspired by the American Great Plains, by Scott Kirby. Referred to as an “accidental artist” by Sandpoint Magazine, Kirby began painting in 2005, after 9 months of drawing with dual-tip brush pens. Although the attempts to capture these mostly imagined visions are quite intentional, the origins of Kirby's transition from music to art was, in a way, “accidental,” and unexpected. While drawing with his daughter Sara one afternoon, Kirby was suddenly compelled to continue into the night and following days, being bombarded by mental images which demanded expression. Weeks turned into months, and drawing turned into painting, all scenes rooted in a long relationship...
