As it is a major wildlife habitat, especially for birds it also has SSSI (Site Of Special Scientific Interest) status. North Devon on the estaury of the River Torridge near Bideford, Appledore, Westward Ho! and Instow and teh River Taw and Barnstaple in North Devon, UK.
