Many tongued-thrush is the meaning of its scientific name, Mimus Polyglottos, This bird is well known for its intelligence, distinguishing between friendly humans or threatening ones. They also mimic other birds songs and sounds incorporating them into their own sound. Common to North America it is the state bird of 5 different states. This particular bird has made our backyard here in Tennessee a regular visit.
