Artist's Description
This painting is of the Hudson River as seen from the Nyack Beach Park. There is a wonderful path that extends for several miles above the Tappan Zee Bridge. I was walking along the path one Spring day, when I saw the pale yellow honeysuckle vines growing at the rivers edge, and silhouetted against the rocks.
About Laura Sullivan
I have been painting in oils and pastels for many years. I'm particularly inspired by nature, and what I discover walking through the Hudson Valley and on my travels to other regions. When a scene touches my heart, I take a photo, and work in the studio to convey my impressions. My background in flowers and design has enhanced my paintings. Occasionally I work Plein Air, painting outside. Art has always held a special place in life, not only drawing from a young age, but continually visiting as many art exhibits as possible. I've studied painting and drawing at SUNY Purchase, the Woodstock School of Art, and the Pastel Society of America. Adding to my experience as an artist, are explorations in colored pencil, watercolor and mixed media....
