The artist is my son and is very talented. In high school he was accepted by Chicago Art Institute but couldn’t afford the tuition. He graduated from Fredonia State University with a Fine Art degree.

The yellow-crowned night heron (nyctanassa violacea) can be found from eastern southern Canada and the United States, inland as far as the midwest saltmarshes, down along the gulf coast into coastal Mexico, Central America, and northern South America as well as Cuba and the Caribbean in inland bottomland forests, swamps, shallow wetlands, wet fields, drainage ditches, coastal marshes, mangroves and barrier islands. The largest concentration is along the souther Arlantic coast of the United States.
The yellow-crowned night heron forages both day and night feeding mainly on crabs in a marine environment and crayfish in freshwater. It also eats earthworms, leeches, centipedes, snails, mussels, insects, frogs, fish, snakes and other small prey that comes within its reach.
They stalk their prey slowly in or near shallow water, standing on shore or a low branch over...

Having grown up with an aunt who was a professional artist, I was always exposed to the creative arts. As a result, I have always liked to paint. Later I went to the Defense Information School at Ft. Benjamin Harrison in 1966 where I got more intensive training in photography and photojournalism and practiced that craft in Vietnam and the United States. I studied with the Famous Artist’s and Famous Photographer’s Schools to help hone my skills.
