Description
I needed to paint so I set up on the front yard looking eastward across the crest of the Oak Ridges Moraine. The cumulus had limited vigour and vertical development. Turbulent mixing with the brisk northwesterly wind ahead of the ridge of high pressure was the big reason behind these cumulus. The tops of the cumulus showed continued increasing winds with height and Kelvin-Helholtz curls. These cute curls are most prominent on the cumulus in the upper right of the painting. The temperature and conditions were perfect and I used lots of paint. It was a beautiful afternoon!
