Exploring the division of space with thirds in mind.An explanation of the grid. Focus on the cell that includes all four lines. Imagine the cell without lines. The first line I drew was the longest vertical line. This line sectioned off the right third of the square cell. The second line I drew was the longest horizontal line. This sectioned off the bottom third of the left rectangle created by drawing the first line. The third line I drew was the shorter vertical line. This sectioned off the left third of the square created by lines one and two. The fourth line I drew was the shorter horizontal line. This sectioned off the top third of the rectangle created by lines one, two and three. So, the drawing was all about subdividing a third. Hence 'of thirds'.
