The things this square has seen, would boggle the mind. On the left is the bus stop where Rosa Parks boarded the bus. The hill behind is the march to the capitol building on Goat hill during the civil rights movement. To the right of the capitol building is the first white house of the Confederacy. The hill and the road to the right, are the historic tracks of the Lightning Line, the first electric street car in the western hemisphere. Even the fountain has a story to tell. It is originally a natural spring where native American people collected water.
