Partial structure of the wheel of the Singapore Flyer and its capsules along with the base, with a number of white clouds in the sky, photo taken from a cruise on the water reservoir (the cruise being called the Ducktour). The Singapore Flyer is a giant Ferris wheel located in Singapore, in the Marina area, right next to the Marina Bay Sands resort, with the exact area being the Marina Promenade. The Flyer is based on the Londoneye, another giant observation platform. The Singapore Flyer presents a great view of the city and some of the attractions. The Flyer has a total height of 165 meters, and reaches 42 stories tall (and is taller than London Eye by 30 m). The Singapore Flyer was opened in April 2008 to the general public. There are 28 capsules in the Flyer, with each capsule holding 28 people. Each trip lasts around 30 minutes.
