This photograph was taken by my father, Darrel Keahey, back in the 50's. It is a photo of the Garber-Covington oil field which still exists today but doesn't look anything like this old picture.

My love for photography began when I was very young; as the photo shows me reaching for dad's new Leica camera. My 1st camera a Kodak, was given to me by my father back before grade school. The camera even had film in it. The only thing I remember about this camera was that you viewed through the top. Dad was a professional photographer most of his life. So you might say that I have inherited my father's eye to see the beauty of this world. I want to dedicate this page to my best friend, who is also my wonderful wife, Phyllis.
