Very creative composition! Love it!

Mal, I have a few of these in my house - great colage!!

Excellent work Mal, love the narrative too.

A beautifully framed composition and a nice trip down the nostalgia road. You are right, too, about the thrill of the darkroom but as for dragging all that stuff out of the dusty boxes and mixing up chemicals again, well......

Mal what a wonderful piece of history, I well remember my first darkroom experience and the smell of the chemicals, I still have a small darkroom I on occasion venture in. This image brings back many a memory for many of us sharp shooters. Terrific color and composition, I just love it!!

Very interesting arrangement of vintage cameras. I enjoyed studying it in detail.

Wow - I didn't realise it was going to be that big! It's a gift for a young member of the family - I think he'll be thrilled as he's a tractor fanatic at 6 years old. A practical gift too. The towel has a smoother upper side so it'll be more comfortable to sit on at the beach. It seems to have a thick absorbent power so no usual skinny beach towel.

Perfect gift for my college niece!!! They love to have their towels for spring break! Highly recommend. I recently bought round beach towels at a major retailer. The quality from fineartamerica far surpasses it! The artwork on the towel is vibrant and attractive. Love it!

Artist's Description

A collection of old cameras from different eras reflect the old school approach to image making. Using a sensitive material - film, each exposure was a labor of love, requiring a slower and perhaps more thoughtful approach than the digital era can lull our senses into pursuing. These cameras generally inspired a pride of ownership too, due to the integrity of the materials used in their construction. My first 'real' camera was an Olympus OM1N and I loved its construction, its fine range of optics and its compact (for its day) handling! Cameras such as these continue to be very usable today, with many films still manufactured and some available from specialist suppliers. Running a film through an old box brownie is great fun too and these cameras can be picked up for next to nothing. Anyone who has developed and printed their first picture in a darkroom will remember the thrill of seeing that first image reveal itself slowly in a tray under the dimmed red/orange safe light. The smell of...
