Found on the journey, swans are the most incredible creatures to get next to! Not surprising how versatile this image of the swan I photographed, became blended with my own painting of a transformational butterfly abstract, and yet another image appears in the wings, that of a child. .. or perhaps one may see other images that have connections to winged flight, and a sense of safe wonder and enfoldment. ...In the 19th and early 20th centuries, the Trumpeter Swan was hunted heavily, both as game and a source of feathers.
