The artwork, On the Horizon, invites the viewer to enter onto this coastal moment, capturing the last rays of the sun before evening sets in and the deep purples and golden highlights give way to dark blue and – if there is no moon – black.

On the Horizon is where the action is, as the clouds in the sky change in color with the movement of the sun. But there is action as well in the water – where there is always movement and grace at the ocean – as well as on the beach itself, which reflects the golden rays of the evening sun. And though there is much to see and take in, this is not a moment of stress or anxiety, because the ocean itself is not a place of stress or anxiety.
