I’m the Grammie for whom my granddaughter painted the giraffe. The bag is large and very well made. The colors don’t match the original exactly but that’s not an issue. I love the bag and would have bought it even if I didn’t have a personal connection to the artist.

It's a spacious and well made bag. The art work is on both sides and eye catching.

Bought the 2 items as gifts and had them delivered out of state so cannot provide pictures. But I can say the recipients were pleased with the items and I was happy with the timely delivery. I will be a customer again in the future.

I love this bag. Very true to the painting. However, this particular inside of the bag frayed (came nubby) I can still use it and do, and get many compliments.

Artist's Description

This is a painting from a series of paintings I did about my father, a jazz musician, who died from dementia. Throughout the series, I use the elephant as a symbol for dementia. This painting is about how we have to say goodbye each time we lose a piece of our loved one to the disease - whether it be to their ability to say our name, or use the bathroom, or walk,or feed themselves, or finally, when we have to say the ultimate goodbye. This painting is featured in my book, Fractured Memories: Because Demented People Need Love, Too. It chronicles my family's heartbreaking and hilarious journey through my dad's dementia and includes 40 paintings. You can purchase it at http://shop.emilypageart.com/products/fractured-memories or on Amazon.

About Emily Page

Emily Page

Color and texture are hugely important in my work. Applied appropriately, they can actually elicit a visceral response from the viewer, says Emily Page, a California-born, Virginia-raised artist. Page began experimenting with different brushwork and palette knife work, scraping and overlaying, from the very beginning. At Wake Forest University in North Carolina, she honed her skills and graduated with honors with a BA in visual arts. I learned to work in a number of mediums, including sculpture and photography, but my passion has always been painting. I love working with oil paint simply for the richness of it. It just feels luxurious. And it affords such workability and durability. No other medium matches it. I enjoy branching out...
