Artist's Description
Most of what I have been doing lately is working in miniature. That has allowed me to pack most of my "art stuff" in preparation for a move in a couple of weeks. Everyday more goes into boxes and crates but I have to have something to work with. Right now it is little WC blocks and my sketch book. Todays painting came to me in the grocery store the other day. I saw these beautiful purple onions and bought them just to paint. I added the asparagus for composition's sake. I am not usually a still life painter, but lately have been inspired by my groceries.
About Libby Cagle
I am a life-long Floridian running away from over-development of the east coast to a nice quiet place near the gulf. I love the flat landscape, the wildlife, the beautiful hundred year old oak trees, and the hot humid climate. The bugs I could do without, though. I paint the things I love that I find in Florida and from my travels in the US and abroad. I love to paint animals especially pets. While my primary medium is watercolor, I have ventured into monotype, collage, and oils. Watercolors keep me tight and precise, the other media make me loosen up. A day without art makes me very confused. More paintings can be viewed at www.libbysart.com.
