Thanks again Mitch!

Yeah, im from Orizaba...he is actually is a great man, also a great painter, and there is a rumor, that he is a millionaire man...but he is also a very lonely one, and thats the reason he become crazy...sometimes he is walking naked in the streets, and sometimes he is a well-mannered man, like the person you meat. Sad story of a great man, that remind us wich important is the love for the humans.

I am de Orizaba and I know this person as possible and that the misfortune of others you see it as art ....

He is part of Orizaba

OHH MY GOD!!!!!! I KNOW THIS GUY!!!!! HES THE FIONAS FATHER!!!!!!!!!

very cool...

I know a bit about his history... When he come the moment to choose his career, it had decided to study art (painting), but his dad, a millionaire of the epoch, he don't leave it, he force to him to study medicine, he obediently, study and he title as medical doctor, after it, return to his house with his Dad and he said to him " Here this one the doctor's title that so much you were longing for me, I have expired with you as son " and then he went to study to France painting. Nowadays it is continues being a millionaire but many people say that this madman

A soulful shot!

Cool story and great photograph. I told my wife that I intended to let my beard grow like this. There is a man I see in Venice all the time who looks just like this guy, always walking a little dog. Maybe I will take his picture, but I have been afraid to ask, being the shy type. Keep up the good work, and I'm glad you survived your accident with the bike.

So this is his work in progress so to speak - For the glory of God?

I agree Skip...Brilliant!! Your works also, are brilliant....we really do get your meaning...you know...even if we are old!! I'll share my Scotch with you any day!! Hugs, Liz

great image Skip, and a great story

I agree - he's brilliant! And your photos are too!

Beginning with an outstanding photograph, the ability to crop and rotate the image, along with quality card stock, envelopes and box. The Best!

I bought notecards, so I don't really have a photo to upload, but thank you for having this particular image available! I have been looking for it for a number of years. The artist lost two sons in World War I. He also painted the murals in the Chapel of the Dead in the Jesuit parish in Paris where his sons are memorialized the same year he painted this image, which he later gave to a family member who was ordained as a priest. This was Pierre Teilhard de Chardin's favorite image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus . . . he gave a card of this image to a friend during World War II, and he had it on his desk when he died in New York City in 1955. If you have any knowledge of where the original painting is, I would love to know! I hope to go to France someday and would love to see the original painting.

Stunning photograph.

Artist's Description

I watched this fellow for a couple days while staying in Orizaba, Mexico. The haphazard painting on the abandoned building seemed to mean something, but I couldn't put my finger on it. I asked the man if I could take his photo and he seemed very proud to be asked as he gleefully agreed. And, then I stood back... across the street and watched him add more daubs of paint here and there. He'd then pose himself... almost as an element in his own painting... along the sidewalk. Passersby paid him no heed. Very strange. Eventully some ol' woman came up to me and asked why I was watching that crazy man. She said he does this everyday. He paints a little blob on that old building... then stands in front of it as if he's "somebody". Crazy man! You should stay away from him. "Crazy"? I don't think so... I say, Brilliant!!! Orizaba, Mexico

About Skip Hunt

"I make images... so that all my moments will not be lost in time like tears in rain." ~ Skip Hunt Skip Hunt, born on the wind-swept plains of Oklahoma, is a professional photographer in Austin, Texas. He picked up a 35mm camera in the mid-1970's and has never stopped sharing his unique vision via photographic images. Many moons ago, he was bitten hard by the wanderlust beast and has been canvassing the globe ever since. Visionary artists such as Pete Turner, David Lynch, Cindy Sherman, and Andre Kertesz set Skip's sight on a fine-art horizon early on. His insatiable thirst for rich color and even richer cultural exploration keeps him on the road most of the time. When he's recharging his batteries, he calls Austin, Texas...
