Kintsukoroi is a Japanese term that is used for the process of taking broken china and reassembling and sealing the broken pieces with gold. This creates a priceless, one-of-a-kind treasure out of what was essentially...trash.
And that is the point behind the concept of Kintsukoroi, that perhaps some are broken so others can put them back together as a completely unique masterpiece, unlike any other. If they had stayed a teacup, they'd be just like every other teacup created at the same time they were.
Kintsukoroi can also be applied on a macrocosmic scale in spiritual terms. Instead of a teacup, a broken and brutalized soul. People give up on broken souls and see them as monsters, as trash. But with the right person, souls can be put back together and sealed with gold. The gold energy of the All, the Source, the Higgs Field...whatever name you have for IT, you know IT exists.
