Just great. The right size and looks so good on wood.

I am very happy with this piece. I loved it when Nick first shared it via social media, and it's such a great addition to my workspace. I originally was going to have it framed, but went with the wood print so I could get a slightly larger version of the piece to be able to see all the detail.

Bias opinion as I’m Vespista. Classic Vespa pose. The greys and browns on the wood perfectly matching the office decor. The wood is solid but heavier than I anticipated. A good workout to hang. Very satisfied.

Artist's Description

Ossewa 1830 - 1840 (Oxwagon in South Africa) The Great Trek (Afrikaans: Die Groot Trek) was an eastward and north-eastward migration away from British control in the Cape Colony during the 1830s and 1840s by Boers (Dutch/Afrikaans for "farmers"). The migrants were descended from settlers from western mainland Europe, most notably from the Netherlands, northwest Germany and French Huguenots. This educational illustration executed as an old drawing by South African artist Christo R. Wolmarans, shows the design of a typical ox wagon (Ossewa) from the period naming the typical elements in Dutch and Afrikaans of it's mechanical anatomy. A great conversation piece for history enthusiasts and scholars.

In his quest for instant gratification, the negative space of the dark ground completes the picture for the viewer. With his loose expressive style in line or brush, an intriguing form of realism is optically created.
Christo Wolmarans has twenty years experience in Graphic Design. Originally from Johannesburg South Africa, he studied Graphic Design at the Witwatersrand Technikon (now Johannesburg University), qualifying in 1985. He was...
