This is an early morning photo of the ballpark for the Stockton Ports in the central valley city of Stockton, California.
This is a delightful ball park in my home town, Stockton, California. It is the home of the Stockton Ports, a minor league farm team for the Oakland A's and a great venue to see good baseball.It is a lovely design and a very welcoming ball park. The history of baseball in Stockton is intriguing.
After playing at Billy Hebert Field in Oak Park since 1950, the Stockton Ports moved into their new waterfront home at Banner Island Ballpark in 2005.
The Ports hosted their inaugural home opener at Banner Island Ballpark on Thursday, April 28, 2005. The Ports defeated the San Jose Giants, 7-4, in a sold-out crowd of 5,287 fans.
The Ports have been highly successful in the new stadium, making five post-season appearances and winning one California League Championship title since 2005. The Ports welcomed their 1 millionth fan in stadium...

Love the story. Hope that the plan to decrease the number of minor league teams does not effect this franchise. For 30 years we lived in Rochester NY and went to minor league baseball games. Small park, everything was enjoyable.
