Description
This is Shadow, a yearling black bear, that we have been filming and photographing since she was a tiny cub. We named her Shadow because she was always shadowing her momma, Blaze. This spring her momma kicked her and her siblings out to fend for themselves. Poor girl was literally afraid of her own shadow. She spent most of her time up a tree. She finally learned to fend for herself and grew into a beautiful young 'lady'. Unfortunately, near the end of the season she showed up with a nasty wound on her back haunch. But she was healing nicely the last time we saw her. Hopefully, we will she her again in the spring. Nature is nature, what will be will be but...we always hope for the best.
