Congratulations on the feature and I like it too, Nigel! Beautiful work of art. Nicely Done! FAV!

Nigel Follett replied:

Hi Reynold. Thank you very much! This one started off as an exercise to see if I could paint my hands - I then wondered what to do with them!

FEATURED on FAA Group; 'Arts Fantastic World'. Thank you!

FEATURED on FAA Group; 'Digital Works'. Thank you.

Love your work and imagination Nigel...Great portfolio...L

Nigel Follett replied:

That's very kind of you Jean. I try to strike a balance between more gentle paintings and those with a message - which can sometimes be a little hard to look at. :-)

Nicely captured, great message...despair and desolation, hand in hand.

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you Chas. I'm a cheerful soul aren't I? :-) Working on something a little lighter, in between getting our house ready for sale (99% done now).

Bravo Nigel! Your artwork is featured in Mutamea - My Change.

Nigel Follett replied:

Woohoo! Thank you Sora! :-)

Congratulations on being featured in the Fine Art America Group "Images That Excite You!"

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you so much John!

So beautiful work!! lfv

Nigel Follett replied:

Very glad you like it Deyanira. Thank you.

Fantastic creation!!! fav

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you very much Heloisa! :-)

What a brilliant and powerful image you've digitally painted, Nigel! Very thought-provoking! L/F

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you Hazel. It started out as an exercise in seeing if I could paint my own hands 'free-hand'. I'd been told so many times how difficult it was (I've painted in watercolour and oils for years before going onto a digital tablet) and thought I'd find out if that was the case. It was! lol. However, once I'd done these I was no longer afraid of them, so one of my more recent paintings has close studies of hands and feet.

This is a powerful statement you have expressed in this artwork. Well done!

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you Sena. Another strange one I know - I tend to have moods which vary across my three favourite subjects - people, wildlife and environmental or human rights statements - the latter are often a bit off the wall.

well done Nigel

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you very much Chris.

Fantastic work ! Brilliantly conceived and deeply thought provoking. f,l

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you Ana Maria, that's really kind of you!

Very powerful piece Nigel! I love it. A great work of art with a profound message! L/F f t g+ P

Nigel Follett replied:

Thank you very much Rosemary. I'm finding myself increasingly drawn to creating works which carry an environmental message. They probably aren't ideally commercial, but that isn't the thing that drives me to paint. Happy New Year!

Thank you for featuring this in 'What question mark'.

That's a lovely and thoughtful thing to say Joe. Thank you.

If this is not imagination, it does not exist. To the moon on it, iPhones on it--it is the great big engine that could and does propel us all forward--thanks to husbandry like yours. I am the better for yur gifts.

Thanks Barbara. It started out as an exercise to see if I could paint hands - mine in this case. Once I had, I was wondering what to do with a pair of disembodied hands - and this rather stark image popped into my head!

This is quite a dynamic piece Nigel

Thank you John. It's exactly what I wanted to achieve with it.

This is a truly kick ass image! Very cool work... I love it. Thank you for sharing with us.

Hand Towel Reviews (109)

Average Rating (4.54 Stars):

December 6th, 2018

For a bird loving friend it’s perfect.Made her smile

December 2nd, 2018

It didn't turn out as good as I expected, although it is still very nice. I suspect it's because it is so much larger than the original painting. The colors are not nearly as bright as the painting, that is they look faded.

November 20th, 2018

I would like a refund. It’s not the color as shown I wanted Dk brown as described in the picture shown.

Here we have a symbolic landscape, implying that our Earth has become a barren wasteland, sharing a similar fate to that which befell Mars. The cause of this is the hand of man. About Nigel Follett

Nigel's paintings mix traditional fine art techniques with digital formats and are a stunning array of original artworks, ranging from portraits and landscapes to more concept and surreal pieces. ''...some of his artworks are absolutely beautiful. Actually, there's a whole wealth of stuff, some with an uncomfortably acute resonance with some of the Big Concerns, both political and environmental...'' Prof. Paul (Oz) Hardwick. Professor of English, Leeds Trinity University, England. One of his works (Ragnar's Epitaph') was short-listed in 2014 for the Gallery of Top 100 works worldwide for the Lumen Exhibition Prize; this painting was displayed in the Lumen On-line Gallery for several months. The prize is described by 'The Guardian'...
