just a beautiful greeting card
This owl is wise and powerful. He is raising his wings to show his tremendous scope of being an all-encompassing being. Soar high and may others be inspired by your unwillingness to be stuck in earthbound realms. I started out painting the face, then the right wing and finally the left wing. White gouache was added to transparent watercolor paint to give some opaque contrast to the image. I have always enjoyed painting winged creatures because they represent, to me, freedom.
My name is Beverly Bronson. I have been an artist all my life or so it seems. I love all mediums but prefer watercolor for its freshness and spontaneity. I have been called an expressionist because I do feel I can express my feelings and emotions depending on the brush stroke used, the linear qualities and my use of color. A long time ago, I was very detailed in my approach but now feel my artistic style has gotten abstract/impressionistic. In this way, I can let the viewer fill in details. I find doing art a very spiritual/therapeutic process and it helps me cope...

Gorgeous piece Beverly. Powerful with a hint of menacing - amongst the fluid and energetic display of color. Striking combination.
