Artist's Description

This is one of two Earth Mother works, that is, Pachamama, done with acrylics and oil pastel on our kitchen wall. It shows a storm approaching Cali and the mountain chain, Farallones, that constitutes the western boundary of Cali. It is a work of the imagination with the approaching storm being in the form of a vengeful woman.

About Ronald L Oliver

I have studied with accomplished artists, such as Lilia Yepes in Cali, Colombia and Henry Vermillion in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico and taken classes at several art institutes and galleries, though mainly my training is eclectic and of the DIY variety. I have enjoyed drawing and painting since I was twelve but only fairly recently have I renewed my full attention and passion to visual artist. I work in a variety of media, including watercolor, acrylics, pastels, inks and oils. I am currently re-illustrating a book of children's poetry I wrote years ago. I have done a considerable number of portraits and botanical works on the flora and fauna of Colombia. I also love whimsical images and enjoy creating playful images that children...
