A cool, foggy, Pacific Northwest morning and the fishing vessel "Finn" is about to set out to sea. The little boat had just pulled away from the mooring dock when I took this photograph. I've purposely created grain and texture within the image to add to the overall weathered feel.

I'm a photographer, writer, educator based in the Pacific Northwest, specializing in photomontage work, combining photos I've taken of rust, walls, peeling paint, birds, postage stamps, trees, etc. into images that are completely new, different, and often weird. I like this very well. The monochromatic look is spot on for many Pacific Northwest mornings: Gray skies, gray water, subdued colors. While the fishing boat lies at anchor in calm waters, just beyond the jetty the open ocean brings all the challenges of the seas.
