Description
Pale-headed Rosella perched. Rosellas are colourful parrots. The Pale-headed Rosella is blue with a pale yellow head and white cheeks. The yellow back and blue wings also have black flecks which create a beautiful pattern. It has a distinct red colour under the tail. It lives in open woodlands in Eastern Australia. Pale-headed Rosellas can be quite shy for a parrot, but this one was happy to pose for me, beautifully lit by the low winter sun! Taken in south-east Queensland, Australia.

This is an absolutely stunning photo! Maryse, did he pose for you?
Maryse Jansen replied:
Thank you Terry! Yes, these birds are quite shy for a parrot, but this one seemed to be happy to pose for me for a moment! :)
