Description
The browns of fields yet to be planted . . . or perhaps to lie fallow for a year . . . seem to embrace this farmstead in the rolling hills of southeastern Washington state. This area, called the Palouse, extends into north central Idaho. Geographically distinct, it is known for its fertile land and hilly terrain, referred to as loess hills. Wheat and legumes are the primary crops of the region.
