Description
These days I have been thinking about revisiting some of the medieval towns in the Girona Province. This photograph is from my last visit to Pals, a little village without much signs of modernity on the streets. This is something that I truly appreciate, it makes easier to imagine how life was hundreds of years ago without electricity or Internet.
The historic center grows from the top of a hill, and it’s surrounded by plains. There is a lot to see in this little town: a Romanesque tower built between the 11th and 13th centuries, a restored Gothic Quarter with cobbled streets interrupted by semicircular arches; four square towers from the 4th century; an amazing viewpoint from which can be seen the fields of Empordà and the Medes Islands on a clear day; and much more.
