Description
The night before my last day at Guadalupe Mountains National Park, I said to myself that I would just leave at 4:00 AM if there were no clouds lingering above the mountains. At that time I was happy with the images I had made, and I went to sleep at 7:30 PM looking forward to my drive back to Houston to meet with my wife and family. While I was falling asleep, I put in God's hands, asking for His will but not mine be done. Well, what do you know, when I woke up at 4:00 AM I peeked through my car windows and I saw gorgeous cirrus clouds hanging above. I decided I was going to work on my laptop until 5:00 AM, and then proceeded to hit the road that straddles the mountainside to the east, Highway 62/180. This is not the first image I made, but one that I shot a few minutes before sunrise. Wind bursts of up to 40 miles per hour relentlessly hit my pano gear, making it extremely difficult to shoot this 6-image panorama. Thanks for looking. FAA watermark WILL NOT show on fine art print.
