I bought this for my “Spanish Hairdresser”s birthday. I put it on a tote bag and also bought the greeting card. She really loved both. I would have preferred the top of the hairdresser’s head in lieu of the client’s shoulders. I thought I had it adjusted that way but it’s still beautiful!! Thank you!

Great picture of the Angel Oak tree. Framed and used in a grouping of four cards I purchase here, of the Angel Oak tree. Love the way my idea worked out!

Wanted to send a very special card to my sister. Naturally I thought of John Junek's amazing work. My sister loved the card.

Love this card! It was perfect for framing and looked beautiful, complimenting the style and decor in the room I intended it for.

Artist's Description

The Catacombs of Paris or Catacombes de Paris are an underground ossuary in Paris, France. Located south of the former city gate (the "Barrire d'Enfer" at today's Place Denfert-Rochereau), the ossuary holds the remains of about six million people and fills a renovated section of caverns and tunnels that are the remains of Paris's stone mines. Opened in the late 18th century, the underground cemetery became a tourist attraction on a small scale from the early 19th century, and has been open to the public on a regular basis from 1874. Following an incident of vandalism, they were closed to the public in September 2009 and reopened 19 December of the same year. The official name for the catacombs is l'Ossuaire Municipal. Although this cemetery covers only a small section of underground tunnels comprising "les carrires de Paris" ("the quarries of Paris"), Parisians today often refer to the entire tunnel network as "the catacombs".

About Inge Johnsson

I have been photographing the beauty of America and many other places around the world for more than 25 years. My photographic work has won awards and has been published in several books, calendars and magazines such as Popular Photography, National Geographic, Smithsonian Magazine, and Texas Highways. Originally from Sweden, I currently reside in North Texas. I enjoy many types of photographic subjects and styles, but really love landscape, nature and travel photography. I use Canon full frame DSLRs with a full range of L-series lenses, and touch up my digital captures in Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop to recreate what I felt and saw when the capture was made, and to make the images ready for online and printed media.
