Beautiful print! The only thing I don’t love is the imprint from the wood at the back of the canvas. Maybe different packaging would help?
Artist's Description
Another view of Paris from the Basilique du Sacre Coeur which also shows the balustrade at the bottom of the steps. Painted under wet weather conditions with regular showers making work difficult and added to this some extreme diplomatic skills to get the French gendarme to allow me to paint here without a permit. I lost valuable time negotiating my no permit status to the amusement of onlookers, appealing directly to the head of security who appeared very sympathetic to my plight. This is one of my favorite works of Paris because of the total Parisian mood that it conveys together with a polluted sky which felt as if it would smother the city. The foreground resolved in a very loose manner and holds the composition together well. Whenever I have a chance to paint along the Montmartre it certainly feels like just another opportunity to engage with my forgotten peers who made this beautiful city the line in the sand where they stood their ground against intellectual radiation and the su...

Why does the rendering of this very familiar scene remind me of Raoul Dufy? I think it's the colour and the clever detail. Of course I realise that Dufy was a Fauvist (which came out of Post Impressionism and Pointillisme) and that your style is quintessentially Impressionist, this painting has that sparkling freshness and spontaneity that I associate with his work. Like the song goes, 'I love Paris' and your lovely painting reminds of why. Brilliant artwork! Bonne Chance!

van Gogh painted six works from around this spot before most of the windmills were decommissioned. I've painted four (three in private collections) Was harassed by the cops on this day, but the chief came over saw my work - and told her subordinates to stay clear. Needed a permit. Painted like all my work. Wet on wet - in one sitting.

Your plein air impressions of the world are fantastic. This view is not unlike stepping out of the Lapin Agile after a glass of absinthe.
