PARMESAN ROUNDS is a digital photograph taken by Carla Parris in a cheese shop in the port town of Livorno, Italy.
This image features large rounds of parmesan cheese stacked on wooden shelves. There are also bottles of cooking condiments, such as balsamic vinegar, on the shelves. Additionally, there are what I think are slabs of parma ham on one shelf.
With these fabulous ingredients, no wonder Italian, and particularly Tuscan, cuisine is so fabulous!!
Livorno is a port stop on many Mediterranean cruises. It is a jumping off point for Florence, Pisa, and Tuscany. But it is also a worthy destination in itself. The city has lots of picturesque canals, and on the shopping front, there are great upper end shops and a wonderful market.
