A friend gave me this tool years ago, and I find it quite lovely. I like the plastic green handle, to me this is an unusual tool. It's called a parting tool, because the way it is used or, rather its purpose is to part objects from a spinning wood lathe. You use this as a sort of knife to cut the item you are turning off of the spindle or the block that is holding the item in the spinning wood chuck. I guess you would have to see it done. Still, it makes for an interesting image. -YoPedro
