wow, that's very, very nice David...tones are supperb...awesome details

Dave Bowman replied:

Thanks Russell! It was a bit of a challenge on the day as there was quite a strong wind blowing around the castle and that usually spells disaster for long exposures. Thankfully there was a lull and I managed to grab a relatively calm minute. The clouds give some indication of wind speed :)

Artist's Description

Kilchurn Castle, Scotland. ..... Kilchurn Castle is a ruined 15th and 17th century structure on a rocky peninsula at the northeastern end of Loch Awe, in Argyll and Bute, Scotland. Access to the Castle is sometimes restricted by higher-than-usual levels of water in the Loch, at which times the site effectively becomes a temporary island. It was the ancestral home of the Campbells of Glen Orchy, who later became the Earls of Breadalbane also known as the Breadalbane family branch, of the Clan Campbell. The earliest construction on the castle was the towerhouse and Laich Hall (looks onto Loch Awe). Today, its picturesque setting and romantic state of decay make it one of the most photographed structures in Scotland. ..... Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kilchurn_Castle ..... About Dave Bowman

As a photographer I like to be on the move, physically and technically, trying out new approaches and discovering new paths. I believe artists should continually challenge themselves and experiment in order to progress creatively and to keep ideas fresh and vital. My primary aim is to capture the essential quality of the experience before me at the very moment the shutter closes. I then allow the subject to dictate the precise levels of tone or colour required for the final image. These decisions are key to my creative process and something I find continually challenging and inspiring. Dave Bowman Photography
