Description
July the 4th, known also as Independence Day, was actually proposed on July 2, 1776, but it was signed by three very important figures in history two days later. Two of the signers went on to become Presidents of the United States of America! Their names were Thomas Jefferson and John Adams. A well known historical figure for his inventive spirit, Benjamin Franklin, also signed the document, but, of course, did not go on to claim the office of Commander in Chief of our nation. Oddly enough though, the two signers of the document who later became presidents also died tragically some 50 years later on July 4th, 1826...giving the 4th of July even more special significance! Consequently, it is the 4th of July and not the 2nd, we celebrate our independence from the mother country of Britain!
I hope that you enjoy this creative piece that was digitally created from a photograph I took in my hometown of a sunset! I applied multiple filters to the photograph and created this very colorful and patriotic work! May this 4th of July, also known as Independence Day, be among the most special and memorable for you! God bless you and this great nation we live in!
