I used infrared to capture this image at the Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis, Missouri. I shot this image in the Seiwa-en Japanese Garden designed by Koichi Kawana. Seiwa-en is the Garden of Pure, Clear, Harmony and Peace.
This is a perfect photo for a meditation room, yoga studio, home or office. Bring some harmony back into your hurried life.
This image is one of five in my Feng Shui series. The presence of this image in a home or business environment creates a sense of focus. While much household ornamentation can be appreciated for its aesthetics, in feng shui the primary purpose has been to solicit good fortune for it's inhabitants. Our surroundings project onto our moods and spirits. The things we look at, even if just a glimpse, effect our subconscious. We can accomplish harmony by using art which is first of all aesthetic ,but also functional to create a sense of ease and good fortune in our everyday lives.
My current passion is an alternative photographic process called Polaroid transfers. Each transfer is hand-made by the photographer using specific materials and equipment to achieve a desired effect. A transparency is projected on to professional Polaroid print film and as development begins, the print and chemicals are prematurely separated. The image is transferred on to dampened watercolor paper for a unique image which has a dated, artistic photo-painting appearance. Exposure, pressure, time, paper and other variables make each print an original mono-print. Jane, Fantastic scenic shot of this beautiful location in Missouri, I have several Botanical Gardens in NY that I have been to the most popular one being in Brooklyn and a lot on Long Island. Love the details in the foreground and the background. Great angle at which you have shot this at using the foreground as your guide and seeing into the water and following up to the bridge.
